Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology Compact
Vermont Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology Interstate Compact (ASLP-IC) Implementation Status/Update - Although the ASLP-IC is live in some states, it is not yet active in Vermont. We are working diligently to ensure that counselors and the public have a seamless, secure, and reliable experience once the Compact is live. Vermont is currently completing important steps, including preparing IT systems so we can share accurate data in the required format, conducting thorough testing of data uploads and validation processes to ensure accuracy, and creating an application process for speech-language pathologists and audiologists who wish to convert a privilege into a home state license. Until the Compact is implemented in Vermont a person who currently has a compact license in another state must also have a Vermont license to practice in Vermont.
Status updates will be provided as they are available. Although not all states are yet active, progress is underway across the country. Each step completed brings the Compact closer to full implementation, which will expand opportunities for audiologists and speech-language pathologists, improve access to services, and help address workforce shortages nationwide. Updates about the Compact, including new states becoming active, can be found at https://aslpcompact.com. Please contact SOS.OPRLicensing3@Vermont.gov with questions.
